Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the mysteries of what make us human. Since a young teenager, I have sought to explore consciousness and the human condition through a myriad of channels. Psychological inquiry, creative expression, and the exploration of symbol, myth, cosmology, ecology and spirituality have all been major tributaries feeding the stream of my seeking. Immersed in this stream, I focused on the study of psychology and art at Skidmore College where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2002. I continued my formal education a few years later at the California Institute of Integral Studies where I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Integral Counseling Psychology in 2009.
Before becoming licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I gained counseling experience in a variety of settings, including the Church Street Integral Counseling Center, the Holos Institute, the Anthropos Counseling Center and the Pathways Institute. Currently, I participate in ongoing training and professional development at the Bay Area Gestalt Institute. I am also currently immersed in a training program through Sacred Future to become certified in Nature Therapy and Rites of Passage Leadership. In addition to my work in private practice, I am also the school counselor at an elementary school in the Bay Area.
My work as a counselor is supported and informed by my ongoing commitment to self-inquiry and self-awareness, and to my own process of cultivating authenticity and aliveness. My approach is strongly rooted in Gestalt, Transpersonal, Jungian, somatic, and mindfulness-based modalities, as well as Earth-Based Wisdom and Women’s Spirituality. I draw inspiration and renewal from my love of nature, creative process, ritual, tarot and dreamwork.
